My name is Evan Godbold. I am the Worship & Communications Pastor at Tomball Bible Church in my hometown of Tomball, Texas. For the twelve years prior to taking that job, I was a worship leader at The Chapel in Baton Rouge, LA. God has been gracious to give me not one, but two places to serve so far in my journey in vocational ministry, and I am looking forward to using this blog as a tool share my heart to those that I shepherd.
I love my wife, my son, my job, and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that guys like me are a dime a dozen on this fabulous interweb of ours, and I am not naive enough to think that this blog is going to be anything new. This blog is more about the act writing itself. I decided to start blogging years ago in an effort to get some more creative juices flowing in regards to writing (i.e. I don’t really write outside of school much, and I would like to). Hopefully this leads to a higher comfort level of writing for me, which will make it easier to venture into writing stories and songs, which is a goal of mine.
There are a lot of things I am passionate about: my wife and son, my Savior, congregational singing & corporate worship, ministry, music, gear & electronics, superheroes, lightsabers, the list goes on. If you want to know my views on these, have come to the right place. You can check out the different categories and hear my opinions and respond to them. I will probably stay away from controversy as much as possible as so many blogs are rife with enough debate already. I will endeavor to always have a positive and (hopefully Christ-like) attitude when posting.
I am not vain enough to think that this blog will attract very many visitors, but if you like what you read, feel free to come back or even drop a comment.
